By its most literal definition, fun is something that one does because one likes to do it, and once done, one remembers fondly the experience of doing it—that is, if one likes to play video games, and one remembers playing, say, Final Fantasy VII as having a good time, then video games, to that person, are fun. Or say the person who loves rock music so much that he’s learned how to play guitar, bass, drums, and piano. To that person, a jam session (high-level practice, in my book) with his bandmates is not tedious or boring, but intriguing and memorable, and would thus consider it fun; by tFun and Philosophy

Once upon a time there was a computer named El Yunque who thought he was a snail. Now this computer was a machine who was very old and hardy and somewhat long in the tooth, and soon discovered a new user was using him. So he endeavored to mess with this user’s head.
When this new user got this machine playing sluggish, he noticed immediately to his dismay that the version of Windows it came with was pirated and couldn’t get on the Internet. So the new owner had to send away for a new version of Windows and believed fervently that all would be well.
